Power infra overhaul project on, MP inspects work in Jawahar Nagar
Within 24 hours of the announcement made by MP Sanjeev Arora that city’s electricity transmission infrastructure would get a mega overhaul, work in this regard had been started. Accompanied by senior PSPCL officials, the Rajya Sabha MP inspected one such work in Jawahar Nagar area today afternoon.
Yesterday, Arora had announced that to check the issue of power cuts in the upcoming summer season, 234 new power transformers, feeders, grids, etc. would be installed in various parts of the city within the next 90 days. Faulty transformers, which have caused repeated disruptions in the past two years, will also be replaced with new and efficient transformers.
Addressing the people of the area, Arora stated that the PSPCL had carried out a comprehensive study to find out the areas where new transformers were required. Directions had been issued to complete the project as soon as possible.
The MP also lauded the officials of the PSPCL for starting the installation within 24 hours of the announcement. He stated that on an average two to three new transformers would be installed daily to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Meanwhile, the residents of area thanked the MP for the project as it was expected to give huge relief to them in the upcoming summer season.
Arora also assured the people that the long-standing issue of loose wires and faulty jumpers at various transformers would also be resolved promptly. Further, directions had been issued to the PSPCL officials to ensure the completion of the work within the stipulated timeframe.
