Members of the Powercom Outsource Technical Office Workers Association today stopped working at nodal complaint centres, Suvidha centres, meter labs, stores, etc. to protest against the termination of one of their colleagues on ‘frivolous’ grounds. The striking employees said that they were protesting against the move, but the company hiring employees was not bothered to listen to their demand.

Simranjit Singh, president of the association, said that now the association had decided to further intensify their agitation. The employees gathered outside the office of PSPCL Central Zone, Ludhiana, and protested against the department. The striking employees threatened that they would not join the work till the termination orders of the employee were revoked.

The striking employees also got support from the Powercom CHB Lineman Theka Mulazam Union. The president of the Powercom union said that the employees would fight for pay parity and equal rights.
