PPCB move on providing clearances to MSMEs hailed

Ludhiana, July 26

Gurmeet Singh Kular, president, Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO), along with Narinder Bhamra, former CEO, Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society (LETS), hailed the decision of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and thanked Satwinder Singh Marwaha, Chairman of the board and Karunesh Garg, member secretary, PPCB, for felicitating the state industry through the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS).

Kular and Bhamra in a press statement said it was a long-pending demand regarding the extension in the validity of consent for operation, authorisation, registration and other mandatory regulatory clearances till March 31, 2021, for MSMEs and brick-kilns.

Also, to ensure participatory regulation compliances of environmental regulations, the industry which was operating without the consent of the board, had been given time up to December 31, 2020, for clearances under the VDS with applicable fee only.
