The Sahnewal police on Thursday arrested a proclaimed offender (PO), wanted in multiple fraud cases, and his wife, officials said.

Police said the accused, identified as Jai Inderpal Singh and his wife, Manmeet Kaur, committed fraud worth crores.

A police team led by Varinder Pal Singh Uppal, Station-House Officer (SHO), Sahnewal, made the arrests.

“The accused were evading arrest by shifting locations frequently. At the time of the arrest, they were residing on Pakhowal Road in Ludhiana. Further investigation is on and there are chances of major recoveries in the case,” the SHO said.

The prime accused was nominated in cases registered at multiple police stations, including PAU, Sahnewal, Division Number 8, Ludhiana, and the NRI police station.
