Serious concerns have emerged over alleged property registrations without mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs) at Dehlon tehsil, with residents seeking a vigilance probe.
In a complaint to the Punjab Chief Minister and senior officials, local resident Kuldeep Singh Khaira alleged that registrations were carried out in violation of norms, as several colonies had not obtained the required NOCs from competent authorities.
He claimed that despite clear government instructions making NOCs mandatory before registration, sale deeds were executed at Dehlon tehsil, raising questions over departmental functioning.
Residents said such practices could lead to unauthorised and unplanned development, adding pressure on civic infrastructure such as roads, sewerage and water supply. They also warned that buyers may face legal complications due to lack of proper approvals.
Seeking action, the complainant urged the government to order a vigilance inquiry to examine the alleged irregularities and fix accountability.
He also demanded a detailed report of all such registrations carried out without NOCs and called for immediate steps to stop further violations.
Residents appealed to authorities to ensure strict enforcement of rules to protect public interest and maintain transparency in property transactions.
