Ludhiana, April 13
Staff of the Police Division 5 nabbed a smuggler and snatcher in separate cases on Wednesday.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Civil Lines, Harish Behl, and Station House Office (SHO) Sub-Inspector Neeraj Chaudhary conducted a press conference regarding the matter.
In the first case, the police nabbed a smuggler, Gurdeep Singh Laddi, resident of Bedi Nagar, Moga, and recovered 5 kg of poppy husk from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against him. Gurdeep is a PRTC bus driver. He had brought poppy husk from Delhi and was nabbed during checking at the bus stand.
In the second case, the police nabbed a snatcher, Ramandeep Kumar, resident of Sunet village, and recovered six mobile phones from him. A case was today registered against him. Ramandeep had snatched these cell phones from people in the city in the recent past.
