Ludhiana, November 24
IQAC Cell of the University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, today organised a special extension lecture on ‘Lifestyle Diseases in Modern Life’.
Dr Ravinder Kochhar, Medical Director, LMH Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, was the keynote speaker.
IQAC coordinator Dr Pooja Sikka said the chief guest enlightened the students about the significant lifestyle changes that had occurred in the past few decades and how they had made people vulnerable to diseases.
Dr Kochhar laid stress on the fact that increasing pollution was making it difficult to yield the fruit of nature and lead a healthy lifestyle.
He advised at least 45 minutes of walking to burn calories and better productivity.
The speaker highlighted the role of stress in increasing the vulnerability of individuals to diseases. — OC
