Railways cancels 13 trains

LUDHIANA: During the continuing unfavourable weather conditions, it turned out to be another tough day – both for rail passengers and air travelers.

During the continuing unfavourable weather conditions, it turned out to be another tough day – both for rail passengers and air travelers.

While the Railways announced cancellation of 13 long-route trains, the lone Air India Delhi-Ludhiana-Delhi flight was also cancelled, owing to operational reasons.

Railway officials said 122241/42 Chandigarh-Amritsar-Chandigarh, 14673/74 Jaynagar-Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, 15209/10 Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express, 15707/08 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express, 12232 Howrah-Jammu Tawi Himgiri Express, 13050 Howrah-Amritsar Express, 13307 Dhanbad-Firozepur Ganga Sutlej Express, 14501 Bathinda-Jammu Tawi Express and 19611 Ajmer-Amritsar Express trains were cancelled for the day.

The lone flight between Delhi-Ludhiana by Air India (9837/9838) was also cancelled due to operational reasons. As many as 45 tickets were booked on the Delhi-Ludhiana route while 50 persons were to go to Delhi on the return flight.

Around one to three hours: 12919 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express, 13307 Dhanbad-Firozepur Ganga Sutlej Express, 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail, 12903 Mumbai Central-Amritsar Golden Temple Mail, 11077 Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express, 15211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express, 13151 Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Sealdah Express, 12237 Varanasi-Jammu Tawi Begumpura Express, 12407 Newjalpaiguri-Amritsar Karambhoomi Express, 11057 CST (Mumbai)-Amritsar Dadar Express, 12469 Kanpur-Jammu Tawi Express, and 18237 Gevra Road-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express.
