Office-bearers and activists of the Kisan Congress Wing of All India Congress Committee have urged the Centre to rechristen the proposed Halwara International Airport in the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Led by joint coordinator Gursimran Singh Mand, Kissan Congress activists claimed that the late PM deserved to be remembered as he had launched many projects for welfare of all sections of society. He along with other activists vide a separate letter urged PM Narendra Modi and Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh to pass resolutions in this regard. — OC
