Ludhiana: Bajaj College organised a function to initiate a cleanliness drive of the Buddha Nullah. Jaswant Singh Zafar, an eminent Punjab personality, was the guest speaker. Zafar motivated the students to rise above their personal needs and work for the betterment of their surroundings. He asked the students to create awareness among the residents for cleanliness of Buddha Nullah as it has led to increase of cancer patients not just in Punjab but also in adjoining states where the polluted water is discharged. Jaffar informed the students that on January 27 “Aan Milo Daariyao” an awareness event would be organised in Ludhiana.

Students excel in BCA 5th semester 

Students of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women brought laurels to the college in BCA 5th semester exams. Manpreet Kaur bagged seventh position in Panjab University by scoring 87.75 per cent. Drishti Jain stood ninth with 86.5 per cent.

Seminar on career guidelines 

Placement Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, organised a seminar on “Career guidelines in garment and fashion industry”. Parmod Jain, Management and HR consultant, addressed students on the occasion. The lecture was attended by more than 750 students. It assisted them in identifying areas of their interest, including fashion designing, event management, web designing, digital promotion and graphic designing, among others. Jain made students aware about valuable strategies for effective communication to excel in the industry. 

Inter-school competition

Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana, organised an inter-school competition. Students participated in various events, including poster-making, slogan writing, poetry, dasuti, knitting, calligraphy and sir gundana. Main objective of the competition was to explore hidden talent of students. Students were adjudged on the basis of clarity, presentation, fluency and pronunciation. Theme of competition was “Teachings of Guru Nanak Dev”.
