Ludhiana, October 30

The police today nabbed the accused who had stolen Rs26 lakh from a hosiery unit at Sundar Nagar a few days ago.

The police recovered Rs15 lakh from the accused, identified as Rajesh Prajapati of Shakti Nagar.

Rajesh was working at the Amit Enterprise hosiery unit and on October 25 he had stolen cash from the hosiery’s safe and fled to Bihar.

The ADCP-I, Pragya Jain, in a statement said the police traced the location of the accused in Bihar. Accordingly a police party was dispatched to Bihar and the accused was nabbed from the Rafiganj railway station there.

Jain said further questioning of the accused is on to recover the remaining cash.
