Ludhiana, February 15

Two bike-borne persons snatched a bag containing Rs 3.50 lakh from a cloth merchant in broad daylight at Feroze Gandhi Market today. The merchant, Arun, a resident of Haibowal, was going to deposit the money in a bank at the market when the bike-borne snatchers pushed him and took away his bag.

The Division Number 5 police reached the spot and started investigation. The police have been scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the market.

It was learnt that Arun had a cloth factory on Bajra Road. He told the police that he tried to catch the snatchers but they managed to escape on their bike. The police are trying to identify the snatchers.

The Feroze Gandhi Market is one of the main bazaars of the city and many offices are located there. The Police Commissioner office is located a short distance from the market.
