SAD slams MC over poor shape of roads

Ludhiana, March 18

SAD district president Ranjit Singh Dhillon slammed the Municipal Corporation for failing to get broken-down city roads repaired.

Dhillon said the condition of elevated road near Chand Cinema was very poor as the road was run down at both sides. He said the MC authorities failed to ensure safety of commuters on city roads.

“A large number of commuters use the elevated road in routine. This road is broken-down. It seems the MC authorities have turned a blind eye towards the poor condition of the elevated road. Several accidents have taken place on the stretch. The civic body authorities must wake up and ensure early repairs of the road,” he said.

Apart from the elevated road, potholes on Gill Road, Deepak Cinema Road, Ishmeet Singh Road, Dhandari flyover and other roads are crying for attention.

Residents have been demanding from the civic body to take required measures to repair dilapidated roads at the earliest.
