Ludhiana: The gardening club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, celebrated the arrival of monsoon by distributing plant saplings to its students to spread the message of ‘Go Green’ for a greener and cleaner environment.



Ludhiana: The gardening club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, celebrated the arrival of monsoon by distributing plant saplings to its students to spread the message of ‘Go Green’ for a greener and cleaner environment. The initiative was taken with a commitment to create awareness about nature conservation. Saplings and vermicompost packets were distributed among students and the staff of the college. The saplings distibuted were grown in the nursery of KCW. The college also has a vermicompost unit looked after by the gardening club. Principal Mukti Gill appreciated the efforts of te gardening club and motivated the students to practice eco-friendly measures to protect the planet. She said nurturing our environment should be a constant endeavour, which is possible only if everyone join hands and work for the cause. Meanwhile, Sheenam Mehta, a student of the college, has brought laurels to it by securing 81.27 per cent in BBA Semester-IV. She has stood fourth in the university and first in the college.

MCA Semester-VI results

Students of Guru Nanak Institute Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, have brought laurels to the college by achieving excellent result in MCA Sem-VI examinations conducted by the IK Gujral Punjab Technical University. The college has shown 100 per cent pass percentage. Meenu Rattan secured first position with SGPA 9.14. Navdeep Saini and Randeep Kaur, both bagged second position with 8.97 SGPA, followed by Navneet Kaur with 8.79 SGPA. Gursimrat Singh and Kiranpreet Singh, both have scored 8.62 SGPA and fourth position. Achievers attributed their success to their parents, faculty and institution. Col HS Singha, director of the institute, congratulated the students, their parents and the faculty for an excellent result.

MA Fine Arts Sem-IV results

Students of Government College of Girls proved their mettle by scoring top positions in MA Fine Arts Semester-IV examinations conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The college has bagged four university positions. Principal Savita Rani Sharma said it had been possible only due to the sincerest efforts and hard work of the faculty and students. She blessed the achievers to continue to work hard. Shivani bagged first position in the university with 90.93 per cent. Deepika Kamboj came fourth in the university with 89.43 per cent. Jaspreet Kaur and Afsana Begam stood ninth and 10th in the university with 87.68 per cent and 86.75 per cent, respectively. TNS
