SCD College alumni start fund for visually impaired

The 1975-batch English literature alumni of SCD Government College have set up a fund for visually impaired students.

At the golden jubilee meet of the 1975 batch, PK Sharma, convener, donated Rs 20,000 for helping visually impaired students and gave Rs 10,000 to the college library for competition books. OP Verma donated Rs 5,000 for the cause.

The alumni said that visiting their alma mater has always been a pilgrimage. They remembered their teachers such as Surinder Singh Narula and RN Matta, among others.

Brij Bhushan Goyal, alumni association organising secretary, co-ordinated the efforts with the college.

Satnam Singh, who was representing the college, addressed the gathering and thanked the alumni for their philanthropy and contribution.
