Science Congress Nationals

Ludhiana: Two teams from BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, were selected to represent their research projects at the 26th National Children Science Congress, which will be held at Bhuvaneshwar from December 27 to 31. The theme of this year’s Children Science Congress is “Science, Technology, and Innovation for a Clean, Green, and Healthy Nation.” The children Science Congress, an important event of the Indian Science Congress, is organised to provide a unique opportunity to children of the age group of 10-17 years to use their scientific temperament and knowledge and to quench their thirst for creativity by conducting scientific experiments to solve problems identified by them. Thousands of school students participate in this mega event and get an opportunity to interact with great scientists and subject experts.

Annual function

Ardour and gusto enlivened the grand annual function celebration at Peace Public School on Monday. The zealous students unveiled their flair and vigour through a multi-faceted show case of their skills and talent. The function was graced by the esteemed presence of Sandeep Singh Sidhu, Managing Director, DMC Ludhiana. The meritorious students were facilitated by the principal C K Jeeja. She congratulated the students on their achievements. The students presented a versatile show where in the instrumental music and yog sadhna set the stage on fire through an energetic blend of acrobatics and exercise. Love for mother and respect for motherland were beautifully promoted through theme dances. The issues of declining care for elders and being alert about the strangers were the eye opening performances. A variety of genres ranging from folk dances, Rajathani dance, Bengali dance, Hip-Hop, alien dance , chair dance, joker dance were enthusiastically presented. The bhangra performance by the tiny tots left the audience spellbound and electrified the atmosphere with their foot-tapping music and synchronisation.

Fête at Radha Vatika

Festive fervour was at its peak during the gala fete at Radha Vatika Senior Secondary School Khanna. MLA Khanna Gurkirat Singh Kotli visited as the chief guest. Vikas Mehta, president Municipal Council Khanna, also graced the occasion. Chairman Nirmal Parkash Sofat, Principal Anupama Sharma, school management and staff members welcomed the chief guest. The event began with balloon -releasing ceremony by the chief guest. JukeBox, haunted house and tambola attracted the public. A free homeopathic camp was also organised for the welfare of the public. The proceeds were donated to the Global Cancer Concern, Deaf and Dumb school, old age home.

Dental check up camp

Smiles Forever Dental Clinic organised a dental check-up camp at Kiddies Paradise School Kochar Market, Ludhiana. The camp was dedicated to the martyrdom day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. More than 150 children from various schools were examined during the camp. A large number of kids were found having cavities in their teeth. Speaking on the occasion, Harleen Kaur cautioned the children and their parents about the importance of teeth and explained the proper way of brushing and cleaning them. She also persuaded them to avoid chocolates and sweets to maintain charming and bright smiles forever. TNS
