The Vigilance Bureau conducted a seminar for sportspersons at the multipurpose indoor hall of Guru Nanak Stadium. The seminar was organised during the Vigilance Awareness Week being observed from October 27 to November 2. The campaign aims to promote integrity and probity in public life through citizen participation
Parminder Singh Brar, DSP, Vigilance Bureau, was the chief guest on the occasion while Inspector Ranjit Singh presided over the seminar. They told players to contribute their bit in making society corruption-free. “Players should report to the police if they found anyone indulging in unfair means. The identity of the informer would not be disclosed,” they said.
Paramjit Singh, Manmohan Singh and Mohinder Singh from the vigilance bureau were also present at the seminar.
District Sports Officer Ravinder Singh thanked the guests for their words of advice. The guests were given bouquets.
Coaches of the Sports Department, including Sanjeev Sharma (athletics), Parveen Thakur (judo), Satvinder Vicky (cycling), Gurjit Singh (shooting), Sukhdeep Singh (kho-kho), Kuldeep Chugh (lawn tennis) and Gurpreet Singh (handball) attended the seminar.
