Several injured in group clash at Golden Avenue Colony

Firearm, sharp weapons used in the incident



Ludhiana, August 12

Two groups clashed at Golden Avenue Colony, Tibba Road, last night. One of the group members also resorted to firing, but no one suffered any bullet injury. Sharp weapons were used in the fight. Some members of both groups received minor injuries. The Tibba police have registered a cross case against members of both the groups.

As per the investigation officer, Sub-Inspector (SI) Daljit Singh, yesterday night he was on patrol duty on Tibba Road. He came to know that two groups had entered into scuffle at Golden Avenue Colony.

He along with the police party immediately reached the spot, the SI added. “We saw both groups carrying sharp weapons. One group was led by Babbu Mann. He carrying firearm and firing at members of the opposite group. Other group led by Deepak was attacking their rivals with swords, baseball bats and other things,” the SI said.

The police party managed to nab Deepak and Prince from the spot while others fled, the SI added. “A cross case under Section 307, IPC, and under the Arms Act has been registered against both group members, including Deepak of Rahon Road, Prince of Heera Vihar, Babbu Mann of Model Colony, Rahul, Gurdita, Badal, Bunty and some unknown persons,” the SI said. — TNS
