Ludhiana, November 25

Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) leader Sunny Kainth has accused an employee at the sewa kendra near ITI College on Gill Road, here, of “taking bribe from an applicant for making a marriage certificate”.

Kainth alleged: “A private company is looking after the sewa kendra and the employee who had taken a bribe was deployed by the firm.”

He said: “A city resident had applied for his marriage registration at the kendra. As his marriage certificate was not being issued, the employee concerned had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the applicant. We caught the employee red-handed today.”

“A complaint has been sent to the Chief Minister, requesting him to terminate the agreement with the private firm,” Kainth said.

The LIP team also made a video of the incident and shared on social media. — TNS
