Ludhiana, February 20

Pranaav Jerry Chopra, an international badminton player from Ludhiana, and a trainee of the Ludhiana Badminton Academy, donated his share of prize money amounting to Rs 1.75 lakh to the families of Central Reserve of Police Force (CRPF) jawans killed and injured in the terrorist attack on February 14.

According to a press release issued by Anupam Kumaria, honorary general secretary of the academy, Pranaav secured top honours in the doubles category in the 74th Inter-State, Inter-Zonal and 83rd Senior National Badminton Championship held at Guwahati in Assam from February 10 to 16, wherein he along with his partner, pocketed cash prize of Rs 3.45 lakh.

The local shuttler donated his share of the prize money. “The academy appreciates Pranaav’s noble gesture,” the release read.
