Ludhiana, October 17
Punjab Pollution Control Board Chairman SS Marwaha along with Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma launched a special slogan brochure prepared by Harpreet Sandhu, a lawyer, depicting a message against stubble burning.
Marwaha addressed farmers at Khaira Bet village and told them that burning of straw had been banned by the state authorities.
The DC also urged the farmers to abide by the rules to avoid any untoward incident of fire, which may lead to crop loss or lowers soil fertility. — TNS
