Snatchers involved in 10 loot incidents held

LUDHIANA: The Focal Point police have arrested two snatchers and recovered five mobile phones and a motorcycle from them. They have committed over 10 loot incidents in the area in the recent past.

The Focal Point police have arrested two snatchers and recovered five mobile phones and a motorcycle from them. They have committed over 10 loot incidents in the area in the recent past.

The accused have been identified as Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Gobindsar mohalla, Daba, and Harpreet Singh, alias Happy, a resident of Fateh Singh Nagar.

Station House Officer at Focal Point police station, Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said on July 16, Gurvinder Singh of Rajiv Gandhi colony complained to the police that two bike-borne snatchers looted his cash and mobile phone in Industrial Area.

After registering a case, the snatchers were identified and arrested by the police today. The SHO said the accused confessed to having committed over 10 loot incidents in the recent past. Earlier, two of their gang members, identified as Savinder Kumar Sunny and Tony Kumar, residents of Bhagat Singh colony, Sherpur Kalan, were nabbed by the police. The police had then recovered two mobiles phones, sharp weapon and a motorcycle from them. The duo had committed as many as eight loots in the area.
