Sehgal added that accused, trying to show alleged misuse of state resources, shared purported flight data of helicopter. However, during investigation, the claims were found to be false and misleading, he added.

According to the ADCP, the probe found that the accused had shared misleading flight data to bring disrepute to the state government.

“Many social media profiles have also shared the fake videos. Those profiles are now under scanner. Sharing such misleading content is a crime. Once the police identify such social media profiles, action may be taken against the profile owners as per the law,” added Sehgal.

Fielding a media query, the ADCP said no arrests had been made in the case so far.

Sehgal urged the people to verify any information they share on social media.
