Spa owner arrested in Ludhiana for violation of lockdown restrictions


Ludhiana, May 26

Six persons, including the owner of a women’s spa, were arrested for violation of lockdown restrictions yesterday.

The police said Neha Sharma, who runs a spa near Aarti Chowk, was arrested as she had opened the spa against the closure orders passed by the district administration. A case under sections 188/269, IPC, has been registered.

Rajeev Garg and his brother Pawan Garg were arrested for not ensuring social distancing at a bhog ceremony at the Community Centre in Aggar Nagar. More than 20 persons, many of whom were not wearing masks, were gathered at ceremony. A case under sections 188/269 of the IPC and section 51 of the Disaster management Act has been registered.

Elsewhere in the city, the police nabbed Rajsh Kumar and Sahil Sharma from Kakowal Road and Gaurav Malhotra from Ved Mandir Chowk, near Daresi, for flouting the prohibitory orders. OC
