Ludhiana, June 22
Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company (PMIDC) CEO Isha Kalia and MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal on Wednesday directed all departments concerned to complete the respective ongoing work of the Buddha Nullah rejuvenation project within stipulated time-frame. Kalia also asked the officials to find out solution of scattered dairy units.
MLA Ludhiana West Gurpreet Gogi was also present and he asked officials have been told to speed up the project. Accompanied by MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Isha Kalia inspected Buddha Nullah site in Ludhiana North constituency. MLA from Ludhiana East, Daljit Singh Grewal along with PMIDC CEO inspected Jamalpur STP site. Grewal discussed a plan with the officer for developing green belt at vacant sites along Buddha Nullah.
While taking stock of the ground reality with respect to this project, the PMIDC CEO, MC chief and MLA Gogi told officials that any kind of inordinate delay in the completion of the project would be highly unwarranted.
The MLA, CEO and MC Commissioner also orders immediate closure of existing water outlets, especially industrial, if any so as to ensure flow of only treated water. They also added that so far Rs 270.34 cr has been incurred while directing officials to accelerate the pace of this project to accomplish it within given time-frame.
Meanwhile, they also visited the bio-gas plant at Haibowal Dairy Complex where they asked the officials to operate this plant at its full capacity. The MC Superintending Engineer, Rajinder Singh, said the PMIDC CEO Isha Kalia has asked the MC officials to prepare a project for using treated water from sewerage treatment plants for 890 parks in the city. Officials have been asked to prepare report for a new project for lining and beautification of Buddha Nullah.
