The tournament was inaugurated by vice-president of the school Harpartap Singh Brar. He stressed on promoting sports culture among youngsters. “It is sports and games alone which can save them from virtual technology which is making inroads into their minds in such a way that they have lost contact with the real world and are becoming passive, lifeless and unhealthy as well. They need to be actively involved in sports if they are to keep themselves fit both physically as well as mentally.”
“It is the promotion of rural games which is our prime target. Sportspersons who do not get a chance otherwise can shine in such events and rise to greater heights to achieve recognition and worth,” Brar added.
