Even as the government is making sincere efforts to make sure that all follow the “stay home-stay safe” slogan, there are people who continue to put the lives of others at risk with their irresponsible conduct. They continue to venture out defeating the purpose of lockdown.
In an effort to check the spread of Covid, the authorities concerned have written “quarantine” outside the houses of those who had recently returned from abroad. A resident said: “We ourselves are not going out. Moreover, ‘quarantine’ is written outside the house, thus people avoid entering the premises. We should take this in a positive way. It is for the safety of all that we keep ourselves in isolation. Those who do not provide right information to the authorities are cheating on public and playing with the lives of others.”

The public relation officers of Punjab College of Technical Education and CT University here said in the past about one month, no foreign student had come and those studying at present are hale and hearty, taking the precautions and following the guidelines properly.
At CT University, there are around 70 foreign students and most of them are from African countries. They are all safe, said the PRO.
At PCTE, there are around 250 foreign nationals from Africa, the US, Afghanistan and Bhutan, and they all are fine. One of the PROs said: “None have come here from abroad in the past one month or so. The students from Bhutan have gone back home.”
