Suspects involved in marriage palace firing flaunted political links on social media
Questions are being raised that how suspects facing criminal cases manage to get illegal weapons
The suspects involved in the shooting incident on Saturday inside the Bath Castle marriage palace that cost the lives of two innocents, had been enjoying political patronage for a long time. They could be seen posing with senior leaders of political parties and prominent personalities of Ludhiana and boastfully used to post videos and photos on social media to show their influence in political circles.
Though after the incident some politicians released statements and condemned the alleged political support being given to notorious elements by any leader, the suspects were frequently seen with the same personalities in the past. Even in events such as sports tournaments, others functions organised by these elements, politicians and city’s prominent personalities are seen.
Following the incident, some people have also raised questions on social media that if politicians or other prominent personalities, who were giving support to the suspects, would face legal action or not. They, without naming the politicians, said they had been ensuring surrender of notorious elements before the police. People also asked the politicians that had their own relatives faced bullets in the shooting at the wedding, would they continue to shelter such notorious elements.
Questions are being raised that how gangster Shubham Mota, who is already facing several criminal cases, including attempt to murder, and other notorious elements, who also have a criminal background, manage to own illegal weapons.
Meanwhile, the police had also registered a case against four persons, Bhushan Kumar of Harbanspura, Ajay Kumar Chhabra of Chawni Mohalla, Chotu Ram of Noorwala road and Bhagwant Singh of Latana village, Jodhan, on the charges of giving shelter to Ankur, Jasvir, Shubham Mota, JK Dawar, Jasvir Singh, Rubal Pardhan and several other unidentified suspects. The four suspects were also arrested by the police.
