Teachers burn effigy of Education Secy

A number of teachers on the call of Adhiyapak Sangharash Committee Punjab today burnt the effigy of Secretary education and protested against his ‘non-scientific’ projects.

A number of teachers on the call of Adhiyapak Sangharash Committee Punjab today burnt the effigy of Secretary education and protested against his ‘non-scientific’ projects.

The teachers led by state convener Sukhwinder Singh Chahal stated that they were ill treated and were forced to waste time on Parho Punjab campaign which is not helpful in any way. They demanded the regularisation of contract teachers and full pay. The teachers assembled at Khamano and burnt the effigy of education secretary Krishan Kumar in the main chowk Khamano and appealed to the state government to fulfill their demands. —OC
