The attitude being adopted by the state government towards the children of a teacher couple who died during the block samiti and zila parishad elections is unfortunate and condemnable, members of a teachers’ union said.
The teachers said that the AAP government had not yet taken any action to provide compensation to the children of the deceased teacher couple. The group demands provision of job opportunities after their studies. To push this demand, various teachers’ organisations will organise a state-level rally in Moga on January 18.
A protest was held today at Punjabi Bhawan in Ludhiana city under the banner of Teachers’ Justice Committee, Ludhiana. The candle march was taken out from Bharat Nagar Chowk to DC office. The leaders said that teachers from all over the state would further participate in the state-level rally on January 18.
