Ludhiana, November 13
The 12920 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Indore Malwa Express developed a technical snag a few minutes after it departed from the Ludhiana railway station.
The train was held up near Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran, under the Jagraon Bridge, for more than an hour. Railway officials rushed to the spot and the technical staff was pressed into service to replace the detached air tanker of a coach before the train could resume its journey at 3pm — 70 minutes late than its scheduled departure.
Railway station Director Abhinav Singla said after the snag was detected, the engine driver and guard intimated the railway authorities and a technical team reached the spot where the train had halted in 20 minutes. “It took about half an hour to repair the fault and the train resumed its journey at 3 pm,” he added.
Meanwhile, four trains were rescheduled for late departure by the railways while many other long route trains were running behind schedule.
Among the rescheduled trains were 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express (8.05 hours), 01707 Jabalpur-Attari Special Express (4 hours), 12355 Rajendra Nagar (Patna)-Jammu Tawi Archana Express (2.30 hours) and 22446 Amritsar-Kanpur Superfast Express (2.10 hours).
