Ludhiana, October 28

Around 12 miscreants entered Sharan Knitwears on Rahon Road where they held two staff members captive. Later, they loaded garments in a mini-truck and fled the spot.

As per the owner of the factory, Ashok Kumar, on October 26 night, he left the factory. Two of his workers Sidharth Tiwari and Pal Singh stayed there. On the intervening night of October 26-27 at around 2.25 am, he got a call from Pal Singh, who informed him about the theft incident. After which he reached the factory and informed the police.

As per the workers, around 12 persons barged into the factory by scaling its outer wall. Firstly, they snatched mobile phones of the workers and then locked them in a room.

The suspects later opened the lock of the main gate and then decamped with 2,500 jackets, 600 T-shirts and 500 lowers (pyjamas). in a Mahindra Pik-Up vehicle. ASI Rajinder Singh said the factory had installed CCTV cameras but they took away the DVR with them. — TNS
