Thieves decamped with Rs 3 lakh cash from a blanket trader’s shop at Gaushala Chowk this evening. They were captured on CCTV cameras and the police started investigation to identify them.
The wwner of RK Traders said around 5.15 pm, he went to drop his son for tuition and he left the shop open. When he came back within minutes, he was shocked to see that Rs 3 lakh was missing from the cash box. When he checked the recording of CCTV cameras, he noticed two bike-borne persons roaming near the shop. One of them entered the shop and stole money.
Thieves committed the crime in just 45 seconds.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Waryam Singh said a case of theft against unknown persons had been registered at the Division 3 police station. They were scanning CCTV footage to get some clue about the thieves.
