Three arrested for shooting at Transport Nagar dhaba

A week after a group of youths had shot at a DJ business owner and two of his friends at Transport Nagar, the CIA 2 wing of the city police nabbed the assailants today.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective) SS Dhindsa addressed a press conference after their arrest. They have been identified as Krishna Sahni, alias Laddu, of Sector 32 A in Chandigarh, Manpritpal Singh Pretty of Jamalpur and Dhiraj Kumar Kaka of Sanjay Gandhi Colony.

Dhindsa said three countrymade pistols with 15 cartridges were recovered from the assailants and their further interrogate was on to know about their links with criminals.

On October 9, Kulwant Singh Goldy of Preet Nagar had told the Moti Nagar police that he owned a DJ business. On the night of October 8, he, along with his friends, was sitting at an eating joint where the assailants scuffled with them. During the scuffle, they pulled out pistols and opened fire, injuring Goldy and his friends Taranjit and Gaurav.

The DCP said Krishna Sahni (22) completed his plus two in May 2019 and is already facing a drug-smuggling case registered at the Khanna police station. Pretty (22) is a student of tenth standard and Dhiraj (23) is a driver by profession.

It was found that the assailants had brought these illegal weapons from Uttar Pradesh. It was also being probed if they had committed any other crime with these illegal weapons, said the DCP.
