Three arrested with 6 weapons

Ludhiana, July 11

The CIA-2 wing of the Ludhiana police along with the Counter Intelligence wing nabbed three notorious criminals and recovered six illegal weapons from them.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Ram Kumar (21) of Jawahar Nagar Camp, Ajay Kumar Golu (21) and Ajay Kumar Kaku of Gobind Nagar.

DCP Simratpal Singh Dhindsa said acting on a tip-off, the teams of the CIA and the Counter Intelligence set up nakas at a strategic place where Ram and Golu were initially arrested by the police. One of their aides Kaku, who is lodged in the Central Jail, here, was brought on a production warrant from jail and his interrogation led to the recovery of two illegal weapons. Later, during the ongoing interrogation, four more illegal weapons were recovered from the suspects, along with live cartridges. The DCP said the suspects were already facing several cases, adding that they had bought illegal weapons to commit loot and robberies. — TNS
