A case was registered against the accused under Sections 420 and 120 B of the IPC at Division Number 8 police station. The accused have been identified as Amandeep Singh, his brother Rajinder Singh and wife Praveen, all residents of Hoshiarpur. They are yet to be arrested.  In their complaint, Pradeep Kumar and Kuldeep Singh said they wanted to move abroad for a better future. “While we were trying to move abroad, we came in touch with Amandeep and others through one of our friends a few months ago. The accused told us that they have good connections in Canada and they can send us to Canada. In turn of sending both of us to Canada, they demanded Rs 20 lakh from us,” they said. “They failed to produce any visa for us even after four months. When we asked them to return our money, they refused,” the complainants said. Following this, they approached the police and an inquiry was marked.
