As the police started its new initiative under the ‘Know Your Case’ scheme here today, residents came in large numbers to take benefit of the scheme.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal inaugurated the scheme at the police division no. 2 office.

In the Central Police division, in which four police stations, including police division 1, 2, 3 and 4 falls, as many as 245 complaints were disposed of on the spot. Additional DCP 1 Gurpreet Singh Sikand said these many complaints were lying pending with the police stations from long time which were now disposed of.

“In these 245 complaints, both parties had arrived at the police stations. In some cases, compromise was achieved while in remaining cases, registration of FIR was ordered. People expressed satisfaction over the new initiative of the police,” ADCP Sikand added.

The ADCP further said in 51 cases registered at the police stations under the Central Division, both accused and complainants arrived to know the status of their cases. “These 51 were already registered cases and complainants and accused had certain queries regarding these cases which were answered on the spot,” Sikand revealed.

As per the police, as many as 414 complaints, including 245 of Central Division, were disposed of while status of 62, including of Central Division, were given to the accused and complainants on the spot.

Other police divisions which participated in the scheme today were Model Town, police division 8, police division 5, traffic wing, CAW and women police stations.
