Traders oppose action against illegal sheds

Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, September 14

Shopkeepers opposed the Municipal Corporation’s demolition drive against unauthorised sheds outside four shops near New Krishna Mandir at Model Town Extension.

They blamed MC officials for following a pick-and-choose policy by removing their sheds but ignoring other violations in the market.

They alleged that the civic body had not given any time for collection of their belongings before the drive. The drive was led by MC’s ATP MS Bedi.

The MC officials claimed that the sheds outside shops were illegal, hence, they removed the violations. The civic body also demolished two unauthorised constructions in Zone D areas.
