Tribal youth exchange programme concludes at PAU, Ludhiana

The 17th tribal youth exchange programme concluded on Friday at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, said officials.

The seven-day national integration programme, christened Aadivasi Yuva Aadan-Pradaan Programme, was organised by MY Bharat, under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

A total of 200 tribal youngsters, along with 20 guides, from ten districts participated in the programme.

During the closing ceremony, the participants shared their experiences. A cultural performance by the Odisha team, which secured the first prize, added colour to the event.

During the week, the youngsters attended sessions on leadership and communication, career guidance, flagship government programmes, mental health and substance-abuse awareness, said officials.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted disaster management training sessions for the participants. They were also a part of industrial and educational visits, plantation drive at the PAU Forestry Department and various cultural competitions, the officials added.

Indian Administrative Service officer Pragati Verma was the chief guest for the closing ceremony. Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner, was the guest of honour, the officials added.
