Samrala police have claimed to have impounded a truck loaded with illicit liquor and arrested three persons.

The arrested have been identified as Taresm Singh, Jasvir Singh and Surinderjit Singh, all residents of Koom Kalan. The Samrala police had laid a naka near ITI, during which they signalled a truck coming from the Chandigarh side and going towards Ludhiana. At the time of frisking of the vehicle, they recovered 140 cartons of illicit liquor from their possession.

Sukhbir Singh, SHO Samrala, said they had registered a case under the Excise Act. The arrested would be presented in court for further legal action.
