Two arrested for Jandiyali robberies

LUDHIANA: The police today claimed to have solved two robberies reported from Jandiyali village two days ago, with the arrest of two persons.

The police today claimed to have solved two robberies reported from Jandiyali village two days ago, with the arrest of two persons. Six members of the gang are still at large.

The police have seized iron rods from the suspects, identified as Abdullah Rehman and Sazim, both natives to UP and at present residing in Haryana. They were nabbed when they tried to run away on seeing the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation) Gagan Ajit Singh said the other members of the gang, Savid, Mango, Matching, Munish, Sonu and Arshad, were at large.The police said the gang targeted houses located away from populated areas. They have been facing eight cases of robbery registered in other districts.

On Tuesday night, the gang entered the house of Gurmail Singh of Jandiyali by scaling the boundary wall. They thrashed the members of Gurmail’s family and took away his mother’s gold earrings. The robbers also targeted the house of Ramayan Ram of the same village. — TNS
