Two boys killed in hit-&-run

Two boys were killed in a road accident on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road last night when their scooter was hit by an unidentified vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Gurjot Singh (18) and Krishna, alias Gautam, both residents of Bhairon Munna village.

According to information, both youths were going on their Activa from Katani Kalan towards their village of Bhairon Munna. When they reached near Bhaini Saheb Chowk, an unidentified vehicle hit them, resulting in their death on the spot. The vehicle driver sped away after the accident.

The traffic on the road stretch had remained disrupted for about an hour as the police took the bodies in their custody.

According to information, both deceased youths were only sons of their parents. Koom Kalan SHO said a case against an unidentified vehicle driver had been registered and the police were trying to identify them.
