Two die as tipper’s container falls on commuters

LUDHIANA: In a major road mishap that occurred near Sherpur chowk on the national highway outside a temple on Thursday morning, two people died while three others suffered major injuries when a loaded container got separated from the tipper and hit the commuters.

In a major road mishap that occurred near Sherpur chowk on the national highway outside a temple on Thursday morning, two people died while three others suffered major injuries when a loaded container got separated from the tipper and hit the commuters.

One of the deceased has been identified as Arjun Singh while the other deceased is yet to be identified.

A cyclist’s foot got stuck under the container, weighing over 25 tonnes, and his foot got amputated.

Three other injured were rushed to the nearby SPS Hospital where condition of two was said to be serious.
