The Ahmedgarh Sadar police have arrested two of the seven suspects yesterday who had kidnapped a youth of Khanpur village from a playground on Sunday.
A pistol that was used in the crime has also been recovered while the investigating team is yet to nab five kidnappers and recover three weapons from their custody.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ramandeep Kaur of Malerkotla and Baljit Singh Balli of Shatrana.
The kidnap story
Ramandeep Kaur allegedly conspired with her friend Rashpinder and his accomplice to teach Banti a lesson for harassing her sister and got him kidnapped. However, the police swung into action immediately after receiving a complaint from the victim’s father Kewal Singh and tightened noose around all suspects, who later deserted Banti at Dhuri.
Yadwinder Singh, Rashpinder Singh, both residents of Sihal, Gurwinder Singh of Duggal, Gurvinder Singh Katta of Dharamgarh Chhanna and Rajvir Singh of Kharial village are still absconding in the case.
Ahmedgarh DSP Rajan Sharma said the police team, led by Sadar SHO Sanjiv Kapoor and Jaurepul SHO Rajwinder Kaur had solved a case in which a group of armed miscreants had abducted Banti Singh of Khanpur village when he was playing in a ground, situated on the outskirts of the village, on Sunday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Banti was having an affair with a minor girl of Malerkotla and the elder sister of the girl did not like the relationship between them.
