Ludhiana, July 18
The Focal Point police arrested two liquor smugglers and recovered 50 cases of illegal liquor from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Gurinderpal Singh, a resident of Chonkiman village, Jagraon and Rahul Pal, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Giaspura.
Focal Point SHO Amandeep Singh Brar said a routine naka was laid at Ganpati Chowk, Dhandari Khurd. On suspicion, a police party stopped a Xylo car and during its checking, illegal liquor was recovered.
The SHO said the accused were on their way to deliver the consignment of liquor to their clients in the area, adding that apart from seizing the liquor, the car was also impounded by the police.
The SHO said interrogation of the accused was on to inquire about the smugglers from whom they had bought the consignment.
