Two nabbed for drug smuggling



Ludhiana: The Moti Nagar police have nabbed two persons on the charge of drug smuggling and recovered 400 gram of ganja from them. They have been identified as Lokesh of Giaspur and his woman accomplice from Dhakka Colony. The police said they received information that the suspects were present near Giaspura railway lines and they were to deliver narcotics to their clients. A police party arrested both with narcotics. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them. TNS

15-yr-old girl goes missing

Ludhiana: A 15-year-old girl went missing under mysterious circumstances. Kunta Devi of Parbhat Nagar told the police that on September 21, her daughter was alone at home and she left the house without informing the family. She suspected that her daughter might have been kept under wrongful confinement by some persons. TNS

Man killed in accident

Ludhiana: A 26-year-old man, Munish Thakur, of Neechi Mangli was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a rashly driven truck near Varadhman Chowk on Wednesday. After the accident, the truck driver fled the spot leaving the vehicle behind. The police have identified the truck driver as Jaswant Singh of Gurdaspur. He is yet to be arrested. TNS
