Two women are reportedly missing from Humbran and New Kundanpuri localities in the city under mysterious circumstances.
The police said Sabeeta (35), wife of Raj Kishore, a resident of Sukhwinder Singh da Vehra in Humbran, disappeared without telling anybody about her whereabouts. In a complaint lodged with the police, Kishore said both he and his wife had gone to work at Magma Perfect Factory on Mullanpur Road on Saturday.
“My wife returned home at around 6.30 pm. But, when I reached home at 9.30 pm, she was not there. After enquiring about her whereabouts from my relative and other sources we could not find her,” the complainant stated.
Kishore told the police that he suspected that someone might have abducted and detained his wife against her wishes. The police have registered a case under Section 346, IPC, and started probe.
In yet another case of a women going missing, the police have booked unknown person under Section 346, IPC, on the complaint of Aman Kumar, a resident of New Kundanpuri in Civil Lines. The complainant stated that his sister Priyanka (22) had gone to pay obeisance at the ‘Dargah of Peer’ near Dandi Swami on September 3 with his brother Gaurav and a cousin Atul.
While Gaurav and Atul were waiting outside, Priyanka did not come out from ‘dargah’ even after a long time, Aman said while adding that they failed to find her. The complainant suspected that someone might have abducted his sister. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
