Underage customers: 9 bar owners in Ludhiana challaned for flouting norms

Finance Minister Harpal Cheema on Saturday said the Excise Department carried out a two-day special enforcement drive on August 30 and 31 with a focus on stringent action against liquor vends, hotels, clubs and bars serving alcohol to underage customers in Ludhiana.

Cheema said a total of 23 premises were inspected and nine bar owners were found violating the law by serving alcohol to underage customers.

The minister said legal action had been initiated against the violators.
