Ludhiana, February 21

Condemning registration of an FIR against Arjun Parshad, president, Badewal Road Rehdi Fadi Association, vendors protested outside the Sarabha Nagar police station.

Gurnam Sidhu, a member of the association, said a case was registered on October 30 last year when Parshad protested against the people who were extorting money from road side vendors. The then area councillor and some MC officials had also misbehaved with Parshad and got an FIR registered against him.Agitators demanded that the FIR should be registered against the MC officials who are hand in glove with the ones who extort money from vendors.

The union members alleged that they were being targeted because most of the members of the association were migrants.

Protestors gave an ultimatum to the police to cancel the FIR and register a case against the corrupt MC officials or else they would be forced to start a massive protest once again.
