Vet varsity hosts Indo-Korean training workshop
Seven veterinarians from South Korea attended the training
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organised a five-day Indo-Korean workshop on intermittent hemodialysis in dogs, said officials.
They said seven veterinarians from South Korea attended the training that provided an immersive experiential learning platform featuring practical case demonstrations, live clinical case discussions, hands-on dialysis procedures, interactive scientific sessions, and structured knowledge-sharing on renal replacement therapies and translational nephrology.
JPS Gill, Vice-Chancellor, said, “The workshop showcased the dialysis unit team’s clinical expertise, technological capabilities and academic leadership, making it a national and international reference centre for advanced veterinary renal replacement therapies. Traditionally, advanced clinical training flowed outwards, but this workshop reversed it with international professionals seeking cutting-edge training here. This reflects growing global recognition of India’s clinical excellence and technological capabilities in veterinary renal replacement therapies.”
Swaran Singh Randhawa, dean, College of Veterinary Science, said the workshop was part of the experiential learning project supported by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The project is aimed at transforming the dialysis unit here into an international educational hub, he added.
